Her til morgen stod vi forholdsvis tidligt op for at køre til metroen og dernæst tage i The National Zoo.
Translate: I just came back home to the house, and I'm so happy. I just love being here! After the baseball game yesterday, I met a german girl named Denise in downtown Bethesda for a refresher. The weather is so good here, it's so hot and I got sunburned already - yep! Later we met up with Caja, and then we drove to the Montgomery Mall. When we'd said goodbye to Denise, we drove to a giant shoe outlet next to the mall, and even though I'd decided not to buy anything this weekend, I ended up with a pair of Converse. After shopping shoes we drove to Caja's house in Poolesville for a sleepover. It was the first day of Caja driving, and she did a great job. We only got lost once, even though we had a GPS with a danish speaker, haha. In the evening we just spend time with her host family and some of their friends. It was great finally meeting them, and it was fun too, because they are very different from my host parents. We had a lot of fun about the differences between Denmark and America, and about the whole thing with americans and weapons. We talked, ate ice cream and watched horror films as well. This morning we got up early and drove to the metro because we wanted visit the National Zoo. A huge but free zoo near Washington DC. We saw plenty of snakes , lions , monkeys and elephants, and we really had a lot of fun. Because of the heat, too many people and hurting feet we decided to go to the movies for the first time in the states . It was quite an experience. The Cinema hall reminded most of all of a theater. It was huge and had a big balcony too. The popcorn and soda were huge as well, and people in the hall applauded during the movie and at the end of the play. We saw the movie "The Butler", and it's highly recommended . Afterwards we went to Friendship Heights, where the famous "Cheesecake Factory" was located. We got a really delicious and huge salad for dinner and afterwards their famous cheesecakes . We ordered the Red Velvet and the Caramel, and it was so tasty! Unfortunately we couldn't eat all of it. It has been the most wonderful weekend with fun, smiles and laughter, and I'm already looking forward to the next one. I hope everyone at home had such a great weekend as I had!
